Surfing, Beaches and the Perfect Waves
Costa Rica offers visitors, waves suitable for beginners to advance surfers. The perfect combination of tropical weather, warm waters and fresh ocean breezes give Costa Rica prime conditions for the practice this sport year round. The green season is the best time for excellent waves to satisfy every taste. The most famous surf beaches are Witch´s Rock in Playa Naranjo, Playa Grande, Tamarindo, Playa Negra, Mal País, Boca Barranca, Jacó, Hermosa Beach, Dominical, Pavones and Puerto Viejo. There are other beaches close to Liberia Airport that offer prime conditions for surfing such as Nosara Beach "Guiones", Playa Avellanas and Langosta Beach just on the south side of Tamarindo.
