This hike takes place on the slopes of the Rincon de la Vieja volcano, the largest in Costa Rica where you can admire beautiful primary dry tropical and transitional forest, volcanic activity such as fumaroles, boiling water and volcanic mud.

You also have the possibility to see animals like howler, spider and white face monkeys, coaties, pacas , iguanas and many more. This forest is also home to over 300 species of birds including toucans, trogons and motmots. This hike takes about 2 1/2  hours.

We also have optional 5 hours hikes, one to a beautiful waterfall where you can swim.

Or why not hike the trail with the volcanic activity and then continue on into the deep jungle.
